Chicago High Schoolers Experience Climate Change Firsthand On Arctic Voyage

A group of Chicago high schoolers from the city's South and West sides are learning about Canadian Indigenous communities and witnessing climate change's effect on rapidly melting Arctic sea ice on a voyage through northern Canada. They are on a trip organized by Students on Ice, a nonprofit that brings students from around the world together to study sustainability and global connections. Youth from Indigenous communities in the Polar Regions have also joined the group. A few of the students called in to Worldview to talk to senior producer Steve Bynum and production assistant Jenny Friedland about what they are seeing and learning on their journey.
