City to offer rebates for security cameras as a new anti-crime initiative

Chicago residents and small businesses can be eligible to receive up to $450 for security cameras, cloud storage and outside motion sensors.

City officials have announced a new $5.3 million initiative to help Chicago residents and businesses pay for security cameras and related equipment. People who receive these products through the rebate will be required to register them with the Chicago Police Department, raising privacy and surveillance concerns.
