Three self-identified White supremacists committed a massacre at Pittsburgh’s Tree of Life synagogue, shot to death Black patrons at a Kentucky Kroger grocery store, and sent pipe-bombs to Democratic party politicians, and other critics of President Donald Trump. Many accuse the President of playing a role in the violence by exploiting anxiety, hatred and fear.  Leaders from many marginalized communities have expressed fear for their own safety in this current environment. We’ll talk with Chicagoan, interfaith leader, and activist, Eboo Patel. He believes lovingly embracing our differences is the only solution to our current troubles. Founder and president of Interfaith Youth Core, Patel’s new book is Out of Many Faiths: Religious Diversity and the American Promise. We spoke with Patel in June 2016 after a shooter went into the Pulse nightclub, a known gay establishment in Orlando, Florida, and killed 49 people, wounding over 50 more.
