Jeff Nichols Talks About The Creative Process Behind ‘Loving’

Richard and Mildred Loving were arrested in 1958 in Caroline County, Virginia. Richard was white and Mildred was black. At the time, Virginia was one of 24 states that banned interracial marriage. Their case went all the way to the Supreme Court and overturned laws prohibiting interracial marriage.

Their story is the subject of the new Jeff Nichols’s film, Loving. Nichols joins WBEZ Film Contributor Milos Stehlik, to talk about the film.
