Call Me by Your Name is the new film by Italian director Luca Guadagnino. Set in northern Italy, the film peeks into a love triangle between a professor’s 17-year old son, one of his graduate students, and a teenage girl.
WBEZ film contributor Milos Stehlik of Facets reviews the film and discusses some of its controversies. He’ll also review Lady Bird, starring Irish actress Saoirse Ronan as a young girl from the “wrong side of the tracks” in Sacramento. Lady Bird longs to leave her roots behind for school and life on the East Coast. Former Roseanne television star and Steppenwolf mainstay Laurie Metcalf also stars.
Lady Bird is in wide-release. Call Me By Your Name is now showing at ArcLight Chicago and Landmark Century Centre Cinema.
