A new mega-development may be coming to the city. One Central is being called the largest single real estate development in Chicago’s history. The controversial proposal clocks in at around $20 billion dollars—that’s three times more than Lincoln Yards.

The project includes a transit hub—a part of the project that Illinois lawmakers, at the end of the spring session, approved broad outlines for the state to buy.

However, in Chicago, Mayor Lori Lightfoot doesn’t seem to be quite on board just yet.

Morning Shift checks in with WBEZ reporter Linda Lutton and Crain’s Chicago Business senior reporter Alby Gallun for more on this project.
