R&B singer Stephanie “Sparkle” Edwards testified Thursday in the R. Kelly child pornography trial. Edwards is the aunt of the alleged victim.

Edwards insisted that her niece is the underage girl in the video having sex with Kelly.

You know your blood, she said. Edwards collaborated with Kelly on music and she introduced her 12-year-old niece to the superstar. Edwards said she first heard about the tape in 2001 when a lawyer called her with the details. Edwards viewed the tape said she spread the word among her tight-knit family – but didn’t show it to them.

Kelly’s lawyers tried to paint Edwards as a bitter singer. She testified that she never received money from Kelly for her platinum-selling 1998 album on his record label. The defense says the video is a way for Edwards to get back at Kelly.

There are conflicting stories on the tape, which is not an original. Edwards denied circulating the tape. But earlier this week her former sister-in-law said Edwards showed her the video.
