Overcoming a speech impediment is never easy. But what about doing it in another language, in another country, and in front of hundreds of people? 

For the latest in our summer series “The Movie That Made Me,” Jenn White talks to Nestor Gomez. He’s a master storyteller, winning the open mic storytelling competition, The Moth Slam, a whopping 38 times, and is a 3-time champ of the Chicago Moth Grand Slam. He is also the creator, producer, curator and host of “80 Minutes Around the World,” a storytelling show that features the stories of immigrants, their descendants and allies.

Gomez tells us about the first time he saw the 2010 film “The King’s Speech,” overcoming a speech impediment, and finding his voice.
