From 2015 to 2018, the number of vehicles in Chicago providing four or more trips per month jumped from around 15,000 to around 65,000. They provide convenience for commuters, a source of revenue for drivers, and often operate in neighborhoods where cabs don’t. But that’s a lot of additional cars on Chicago’s already-congested roads.
