Tribune Photographer Documents The Faces Of Dreamers
By Jason MarckAs Congress and the president do battle over immigration, those people that were brought to the U.S. as children continue to live their lives in a semi-limbo. The Trump administration has done away with DACA, and the roughly 30,000 people it affects in the Chicago area don’t know if the next call they get will be someone telling them they have a path to citizenship, or they should be getting on a plane to the country their parents originally brought them from.
GUEST:
Abel Uribe, photographer for the Chicago Tribune, and he’s spearheaded the multimedia project “Caught In a ‘Dream’”, featuring 41 young people talking about their lives, their legal status, and their hopes for the future.
