Chicago LGBTQ Film Festival Celebrates Its 35th Year

The Chicago Pride Parade and Dyke March Chicago expect protests from perennial demonstrators — usually groups who subscribe to an ideology that admonishes LGBTQ people — but in recent years there have been splinters from within the LGBTQ community itself.

Reeling: The Chicago LGBTQ+ International Film Festival celebrates its 35th year, Sept. 21-28, 2017 at Landmark Theatres' Century Centre Cinema. Reeling bills itself as “the world’s second-oldest LGBTQ film festival”. Milos Stehlik, WBEZ's film contributor and director at Facets, talks with festival director Brenda Webb and filmmaker Tadeo Garcia, whose film, Place To Be (En Algun Lugar), will play at Reeling.
