Cubs Fans At Senior Living Community Talk About Life And Baseball

The Chicago Cubs are heading home to Wrigley Field for World Series Game 3 on Thursday.

On Wednesday night, the Cubs tied up the series, beating Cleveland 5 to 1.

Lots of fans have been waiting a long time to see the Cubs in the World Series -- including people who have been Cubs fans for as long as 80 years. Fans at the Clare Senior Living Community in downtown Chicago watched the game while they chomped on hot dogs and Cracker Jacks. They talked about life and baseball with WBEZ’s Shannon Heffernan.

NASCAR Chicago Street Race begins this weekend, and sections of DuSable Lake Shore Drive and Michigan Avenue have closed to make way for the event.
Some small business owners said they plan to close during the two-day event, but others are excited about the race and the boost in pedestrian traffic that could bring more sales.
The San Diego-based chain is planning to open eight 24-hour restaurants in the city and suburbs in 2025 and 2026. One will be near Midway Airport, with the rest in the suburbs.
