President Donald Trump on Monday made his first visit to Chicago — a city he has frequently berated for its crime problems — since he was elected in 2016.

The president spoke to the International Association of Chiefs of Police annual conference at McCormick Place, then was scheduled to attend a fundraiser and meet with supporters at his namesake hotel on the Chicago River.

Protesters were holding a large rally near the Trump International Hotel and Tower.
